I have decided to write blogs about the social injustice that takes place daily with our government. If that means that I have to give up my civil liberties and give up my life in order to fight for what little rights we have then so be it….It is time for all Americans to stand up, and say No to social injustice. We need to speak up when the government steps out of line. If we all say no, we will all make a difference. If we continue to back down, and allow things to slide then we will no longer have a real true democracy. This will be some other form of government.
I just read and listened to Meg McClain’s personal account of what she had to go through with TSA. For those of you who are like me, and do not know who Meg McClain is, she is a radio talk show host for Free Talk Left. To recap her experience, she was asked to step aside and go through additional screening. (Highly embarrassing, because other people walk by and watch you like you are a terrorist.) She refused to do the full body scan, and so they further embarrassed her by screaming out, OPT OUT. She then refused the full body search, because it was far too invasive, and she wasn’t comfortable with it. The TSA agents then, responded by screaming insults, demeaning her, and calling 12 officers over, etc….She was escorted out of the airport by law enforcement after being cuffed to a chair.
Compliance, my friends is not what we need here. We need to complain, we need to put our foot down, and not allow these tyrants to rule over us. I do not go to the swimming pool without wearing a huge shirt over my bathing suit, because I do not want everyone to view my body. I feel uncomfortable when I am in the doctor’s office and they have the little robe over me, I am still covered. Now they are allowed, by our inability to say no, to look at us completely naked on a screen “For the greater good” is what they told her. When is enough, enough? It was “for the greater good”, when they placed innocent Japanese American families in concentration camps here in America in after the bombing of Pearl Harbour. It was “for the greater good”, to whip a slave with a cat- of-nine tails ripping the skin off his/her back here in America. It was for “the greater good” that the Supreme Court (which to this day has not reversed) ruled that Eugenics was constitutional. (That is the sterilization of people who at that time were the wrong color or had mental problems “social misfits” was what they deemed them) her in America. Whose greater good is our government working for? It’s certainly not ours.
Is the government stating that they do not hire perverts? Didn’t we want to impeach one of our President’s for being a pervert? How the heck does the government know if the person who is doing all of the screening is someone who isn’t getting sexual pleasure from looking at these people naked. Is there going to come a time where our TSA screening will be scanned onto the internet and circulated in some paid porn site. Come on people. Does it always have to happen to the majority before some empathy is actually felt? Does it really have to be you, before you realize that this is a violation of our rights. Listen to Meg’s ordeal….
